Newsletter Autumn 2013

Dear all, thanks for having us in your thoughts and carrying us in prayers. We know that without you asking and praying God to lead us, we would be able to do so much because God hear your prayers. So thank you.
This semester is almost over and Christmas is getting closer so we would like to share what God has been doing in Montenegro.

In this update you can see:
  • Concert - Sheila
  • Zlatibor Conference
  • Feuer
  • Danica i Violeta

  • Bible Study group
  • Conversation Clubs

Sheila Ann Smith

In the middle of October we had a singer visiting us: Sheila Ann Smith for a day. We made a concert at local  caffe and invited the students. She gave her testimony how God healed her of leukemia. Amazing testimony and time talking to people. Many good questions and conversations after the concert.

Zlatibor Conference
At the end of November we had our yearly EUS conference that was held at Zlatibor. Name of the conference was All for one, and one for all. It was very good conference and the speaker was Zefjan Nikoli from Albania. He also brought other students with him.We had amaizing exeple of unity for new studnets, because Serbs having Albanian speaker and students on the camp!!!  It is posible only in Christ. And that was one of the topics during this 3 day camp. 1.God as Trinity; 2.Unity in Christ; 3 Unity of Jesus followers. It was around sixty of us there and eight of us from Montenegro. Saturday night it was a blessed night. We prayed and worshiped openly and three people gave their life to Christ.

FEUER

Once a year people from the Fellowship of Evangelists in the Universities of Europe are meeting to share, encourage and plan missions on universities across all Europe. This year i had a chance to be on this event because EUS was hosting people form many Europe countries for this event in Serbia. Great time together with people who have committed their life for evangelism  like Michael Green and Lindsey Brown and to hear people who are younger in this ministry, to hear reports from different countries from Europe on how they did the mission on universities in their countries.
We were not just siting and listening but we were also working :) I mean... imagine all this evangelists to be on one place and to not do evangelism?! It would be strange isn't it? So we have split in several teams after the conference and spread across the Balkan. Some went in Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia... i was involved in mission in Serbia in Novi Sad and Belgrade. We organized book promotion in this towns with Michael Ots and we had great music and drama team also.
This event was very encouraging for me to try to organize mission week on University in  Montenegro. I would really like this to happen, even it look very hard at this point. Please have us in prayers.

Violeta nad Danica

Two of our girls from Montenegro Violeta and Danica, that attended the Hald school in Norway, had some issues with the Visas so they had to return to Montenegro for a month. While here they've worked on getting the Visas to go to Brasil for six months  and it was harder than expected. It was a testing period for our faiths, communications and understandings, but God is good and He helped us in all. The girls went safely to Brazil and now they are serving in IFES group in Belo Horizonte. We are very thankful to God for all people who make their staying in Brasil possible.

Bible studies

Our BS students
Bible study group is getting bigger thanks to our Lord. It's wonderful to see people who wants to get to know God more and more and have open hearts for him. We meet at our place( the Petkovski's) every Wednesday at 19h. In the past months we regularly have the same people coming. We sit, we joke, we study a part from the Bible, afterwards watch a football game, movie, play some guitar, card game etc.

Coversation clubs
The conversations club is now held  in a cafe bar every Thursday at 16h, half kilometer from University. The University closed the cafeteria this semester because some reasons and we had the CC over there the past years. With this new location is a little bit challenging to have new people on CC  because before we were always around the students and very visible so they could just join us and have cofffie with us. Hope the university cafeteria will start to work nex semester and we can continue to have it over there. Pray that the new owner will be open to have CC there and maybe even more, to open for some events in that place.

Christmas Packages

So now is Christmas packages time. We arranged the giving of packages for the 19th and 20th. It's a busy
period for the church. Everyone is active this year and has a part in organization. It's also a period when we need love and patience for all the people. The joy of giving the presents to children is irreplaceable, but working with grownups is sometimes harder.  As Jesus loved all people it's also for us to follow his example as his children. In all it's a beautiful time of the year when we can share the joy with the little ones. This year we plan to give around 3000 Christmas presents in different schools in Nikšić and in some villages around and to share the Gospel with kids and their parents. We will need a lot of prayers for this. Thanks.

Prayer-thanks points:

  • We are giving thanks for all new people that we meet this year and for all who are keen to read the Bible and to learn about God.
  • Pray for new students who started to learn about Him, so they can keep going like that in new semester also.
  • Pray for us while we are doing discipleship
  • Pray for our church in this Christmas period, when we have a lot of evangelistic events. For people response and for us as the teem.
  • Pray for new semester and events and missions that we plan.

We wish you all happy holidays and wonderful time for Christmas. May our dear God bless you in the name of his son and our savior Jesus Christ.

Danijel
