Finally, we are back here on the blog after the summer vacation! We look forward to share the beginning of this school year with all of you. Sowing seeds in Niksic To one of our team meetings a couple of weeks ago, we were studying the gospel of Mark 4, 1-20. Something that really touched us regarding our ministry with students, but who has applications to all christians too. Jesus tells a parable to a large group of people who has gathered around him. It is about a sower, who sow seeds in different soils: along the path, rocky places, among thorns and in the end some fell on good soil. The seed only grows well in the good soil, while it quickly dies in the other kinds of soils. As with all other parables, Jesus uses this story, to show an example of how his word works and how different responses to it will be. By being in the beginning of a new month, we look back on July with great joy in our hearts. It has been full of teams, camps and follow up and the intensity of our programme can not be neglected, but God has been working in so many marvellous ways. Therefore, the intensity has only veen in the best way, for God has over and over again shown his goodness through reaching people's hearts and minds by his Spirit. God indeed wishes to be in relationship with every single person and in all this we experience that he guides us in which steps to take next. God's goodness has indeed be a theme the last month. He is good and faithful to us every single day where he gives out of his love no matter which circumstances of good and bad we have in our everyday lives. With only two students meetings left before our summerprogram starts, we will look back on a blessed and intense month. Maybe many students are very busy studying for the final exams of this semester, but that doesn’t mean that we are doing less. However, before doing that we want to share something regarding the basic truth from the gospel, that stands out for us in our daily lives in the ministry with students and has been in focus for us even more the last week. It is the last recorded words from Jesus in the gospel of Mathew. He says: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go an make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Mathew 28, 18-20).   The last blog pointed on the fact from the Easter, that Jesus gave his life, so we never need to lose it! Howeve...

We want to start this blog with the amazing message Easter brings us with words from the bible: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God" (Eph 2,8). Jesus, God himself, came to earth and became a limited human being because he was the one and only who could save the entire mankind - the entire universe - from the consequences of sin (that we want to be god ourselves instead of letting God be God), which is so destructive, hurting and dark for all. Jesus had no sin inside of him and therefore he could take it upon him and win over the death (the consequence of sin) by raising from the death Easter Sunday so no one need to face death in their lives. That is the most gracious gift we have gotten in our lives and the one thing that drives us in our work and ministry in Montenegro. After a time of silence we are ready to share some of the good work og God that is going on regarding students here in Montenegro, Niksic. This semester we started up by a pizza and music evening the 25th of February. After having a break because of Christmas it was good to see the students again, hang out and catch up after a couple of weeks of vacation and a whole month in December where the students focused a lot on their exams.   However, we want to go back to December. Again, this year we, the EUS team, had the honor of blessing and making 3000 children happy in Niksic with Shoeboxes, Christmas packages, and in the same time share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them and their parents.  All this is connected with the organisation Samaritan Purse and specific this project also known under the name “Operation Christmas Child”. This year we were blessed with a small group from Camp Monty coming and helping us out with these good but intense days. It was such a gift ...
